ALLEGHANY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL BOARD SELECTS NEW CEO

SPARTA, NC : (April 27, 2012) --- The board of trustees of Alleghany Memorial Hospital has appointed Jim Heitzenrater as the hospital’s chief executive officer. Board Chair Warren Taylor said, “Jim brings a wealth of hospital experience to this position, and is committed to making physician, patient and employee satisfaction a high priority. Quorum Health Resources (“QHR”) conducted a national search for this position, and worked closely with the Board to identify the right candidate for our hospital and community.” Jim will begin work at Alleghany Memorial Hospital on Monday, April 30, 2012.

Prior to this position, Jim was recently the CEO at St. Mary’s Medical Center in LaFollette, TN. He has over 20 years of hospital leadership experience including experience as a Critical Access Hospital CEO. Jim has both a Bachelor’s degree from Marshall University and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University. He also spent several years in the U.S. Navy, achieving E5 Petty Officer 2nd Class status.

Jim expressed enthusiasm about his new role, “My wife Sherry and I look forward to getting to know and working with the Board, medical staff, and hospital employees, and becoming an active member of the community. From what I’ve seen already, this is a wonderful community which obviously cares about its local hospital.”
